The varsity jacket trend was all over the New York Fashion Week shows for Fall/Winter 2011. Thom Browne, Phillip Lim, Rag & Bone, Peter Som and Calvin Klein were just some of the fashion labels that showed varsity jackets in their collection. Well, mine is no designer piece but I’m happy to wear my Team A varsity jacket! What’s that you ask? What does Team A stand for?
Well, A is for Andrew – my hubby! 🙂
Now I know we are well into the Fall/Winter 2011 seasons. But hey, this varsity jacket will still keep me warm and stylish until Spring because… yes, you got that right… the sporty look is one of Spring 2012’s major fashion trends and I’m loving it! It’s a comfy, loose and more relaxed vibe! Now I know that varsity jackets may scream “teeny bopper” but ladies can make it age-appropriate by pairing it with pieces that are more relevant and matured – just like black skirts with black tights or even neutral or dark-colored trousers!
I purposely matched my varsity jacket with my Christian Dior cross body bag because of the CD logo in the front. Not only am I Team A but I’m also Team CD (Cris & Drew). LOL! Cheesy I know! 🙂
On MFJ: Forever 21 varsity jacket (similar options here, here and here); MNG tank top; American Apparel black skirt via Gilt Groupe; George (Walmart) Charcoal tights; Jeffrey Campbell Lita booties; Christian Dior cross body bag; Michael Kors rose gold runway watch; Chanel bow drop earrings; pearl and gold necklaces; white headband (SM or Landmark?).
P.S. Now if you’re wondering what is that behind me, well it’s the tower part of our house. Hah! Isn’t it so awesome? Nah, I’m just kidding. The awesome part I mean. We should have made it bigger and taller, don’t you think? LOL! No, I’m just kidding. Then again, maybe I’m not. LOL! Okay, I’m just being weird, I might as well go to sleep already. But before I go, tell me what your thoughts are on the varsity jacket trend. Doesn’t it remind you of your teenage years? Plus, don’t varsity jackets make serious outfits a little more fun and fresh?
