Since the new year started, I’ve tried to stick to a healthier lifestyle. With recent events that have happened (finding out my father-in-law has cancer) and having the worst symptoms of my endometriosis last year (2016), it was only fitting to commit to a better me this 2017. But living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t end with the exercises you do, or the food and drink you take. It also involves everything that we come in contact with. Take for example, the cleaning products we use at home, or how we prepare or clean our food. Late last year, I started changing up our cleaning products to natural or organic alternatives. And now, I’m glad to switch to a better detergent as well, thanks to Rebel Green.
Going Natural and Green
My endometriosis took a turn for the worse last year, leaving me to do a ton of research like: “What makes it worse? What really causes it (still unknown)? How to deal with something that doesn’t have a cure?” In all of the articles I’ve read, one of the things that always comes up was to switch to natural or organic products. And it’s not just with the diet, but with the cleaning products like soaps, detergents, dishwashing liquid, etc. I had to lessen the chemicals that me and my family come in contact with on a day to day basis. Who knows how much aerosol cleaning products I’ve inhaled while cleaning our home?
So whether you suffer from skin sensitivities, have any other health issues, or just want to live a better and healthier lifestyle, I urge you to start looking at the household products that you use too. It maybe that you’ve already switched to eating organic. So why stop from there?
Rebel Green. Rebel by nature, green by design.
Ali Florsheim and Melina Marcus created Rebel Green because they know that style has the power to change consumer habits and can help ignite a change in thinking about products we buy every day. Rebel Green was born out of that determination to make highly effective and natural cleaners with that chic, edgy and rebellious flair that defines their products.
From Ali and Melina: “Rebel Green is a Certified Woman Owned business, started by two moms. We are dedicated to producing safe and effective products for your home and your family. Our families all suffer from skin sensitivities to conventional household products. We hoped we would be able to help other families make the switch if we made our products a better value as well.”
The Rebel Green detergents come in a couple of varieties like Delicates Wash, Scented and Unscented Fresh Laundry Detergent, Gentle Baby, and Good Sport Wash. I’ve been using the latter nonstop for our workout clothes. I was a bit hesitant with how well an organic detergent can perform. But after trying it out on our bedding, workout clothes, wash cloth, towels, rags, etc., I was convinced that it performs just as well, perhaps even better than the regular detergent. It smelled good and it cleaned well.
Rebel Green Produce Wash
Aside from the detergents, I also got to try Rebel Green’s Fruit & Veggie Clean. If you watch the television shows The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls, you might have seen Rebel Green’s produce wash. How cool is that? The set designers of the two shows loved the packaging they chose to include it in the kitchen and laundry areas of their characters.
I’ve been using it now to clean fruits and vegetables. If you don’t clean or wash your fruits and vegetables before consuming, just think about this: how many hands have touched those from the time of harvest to packaging, transport to displaying in store, all the way to consumers like you handpicking them in store? Wash them, please!
You can get this product at RebelGreen.com, Target, Amazon, and at natural food stores. You can also catch them on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram for updates, tips and other news about their latest products.
