Today, I’m sharing some entertaining ideas in preparation for IMSA Racing. In case you don’t already know, my husband and I are car enthusiasts. Back in college, we were already upgrading cars. He did drag racing and I enjoy watching. But hey, he taught me how to launch! After that, he moved on to circuit racing, but not as much as he would like. It’s a pretty expensive hobby. Since then though, he continues to tune his car and does it for other friends too. Aside from that, we also love to watch car racing. We even went to a couple of Formula 1 races and also did a NASCAR tour. So when we discovered IMSA Racing, we thought about following along.
IMSA Racing is all about high-tech, race cars from the world’s top auto manufacturers. Think Aston Martin, Audi, Ferrari, FOrd, Mercedes, Porsche, or Lamborghini, just to name a few. They say that it has all the best parts of F1, NASCAR, and Indy Car racing all in one place! IMSA has exciting racetracks and historic events like the historic 12 Hours of Sebring. In fact, the Sebring event weekend is this March 15 to 18. Watch along with us on Fox Sports 1 from 12:30 pm to 11 pm. Or tune in for the entire race broadcast on FOX Sports Go from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm. The WeatherTech Championship race is on Saturday, March 18th.
Entertaining Prep for Race Day
So, how are we preparing for the big race day? With some quick and easy bites, of course! Get together your family and friends who love watching car races too. Here are some entertaining ideas for your viewing party.
Popcorn in Glasses
What’s a viewing party without popcorn? Popcorn in small cups or glasses make it easy and convenient for everyone.
Sandwiches on Cake Stands
Flat bread or panini sandwiches are easy finger foods too. I used a mix or roast beef, ham, and turkey. Plus, no need for plates! Line them up on a platter or pile them up on a cake stand to make it even more pleasing to the eye. Place napkins on the side and you’re good to go.
Dessert cups are easy to prepare ahead of time. They’re easy to store too. Try an espresso mousse like this and top off with some chocolate ganache and coffee beans.
Jazz Up Your Signature Drink
Aside from the usual beverages you serve at your parties, serve your signature drink and pour some on a couple of glasses, ready for the taking. Make it pretty with colorful straws, and fruit slices like lime, lemon, oranges, or strawberries!
Serve them all in a bar cart. Bar carts are my thing. They carry all the food and drinks and you can easily roll them here and there for easy access. Just remember to check it every now and then if it needs refilling.
