I recently took on the SlimFast® One Week Plan Challenge to help me feel better and start losing some pounds. When summer came, I haven’t been at my best. I got sick and for the next 2 to 3 weeks, I felt sluggish most of the time. I wasn’t motivated to work out like I used to. So in turn, I gained about 5 pounds during that time, and I felt heavy and tired all the time. So I took it upon myself to change all that and start working out again. While I got back my energy, the pounds didn’t shed as quickly as I gained them. So I’m taking on this One Week Plan challenge with the help of SlimFast® and Martha Stewart Living recipes!
SlimFast® One Week Plan Challenge
The challenge was to try The SlimFast® Plan for a week. The plan includes these:
- Replace two meals a day with a SlimFast® Smoothie
- Include one sensible 500-calorie meal per day
- Indulge in three healthy snacks to satisfy hunger
- Keep track of goals and weekly meal plans
What I Needed for the One Week Plan Challenge
I was sent a box with these tools to help me go about this challenge. First, there’s the Martha Stewart Dry-Erase Monthly Calendar and Markers (all available at Staples) that helped me plan my meals. I love having a visual planner like this that I can stick to the fridge because it serves not just an organizer, but also a reminder to help me stick to the plan.
The latest Martha Stewart Living September issue also has a lot of sensible recipes that I can try while on this challenge. I am also loving Martha Stewart’s Vegetables book that features a ton of recipes with vegetables! In fact, most of my meals planned out are from the book.
And finally, I got the SlimFast® Smoothies to replace my two meals each day. It also came with a recipe that I’m obsessed with. You know how I love coffee, right? So I was so glad when the recipe that they gave me is for a Cappuccino Smoothie! But don’t take my word for it, try it yourself.
Cappuccino Smoothie Recipe
- 1 scoop SlimFast® Advanced Nutrition Vanilla Cream Smoothie Mix
- 1 cup fat free milk
- 2 tsp instant coffee or espresso powder
- 1 cup ice cubes (about 6 or 7)
- Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth
- Pour in a glass and enjoy!
That’s it! This recipe serves 1 and you can be over and done with your meal in 5 minutes or less.
I kid you not when I say this SlimFast® Smoothie is so good. If you love coffee like I do, then you’re gonna love the taste. I’m hooked and I have to say, this meal plan is a keeper. I’m gonna be doing this on a regular basis.
So far, the SlimFast® Smoothie has been keeping my hunger in check and I’ve actually lost a few pounds already. I’ll give you an update on my social channels once I reach my goal. But for now, I’m liking the results and I’m also enjoying my meals. In case you’re wondering when I take the SlimFast®, I take it in the morning for breakfast. The second would either be lunch or dinner, depending on how busy my day looks. If I’m not busy, I’ll cook a meal for lunch and then take the other Smoothie for dinner. If I have deadlines, it would be the other way around. I like how this meal plan doesn’t feel so constricting because I still get to eat what I want and I get to feel full.
