On Day 4 of New York Fashion SS14, I spent the morning/lunch time going around the city before heading to my last event. My New York trip was coming to an end. But despite a tired body, swollen feet, and aching calves, I made sure I still looked my best. I wore this one of a kind shirt dress from Topshop that I absolutely adore!
For Day 3 of New York Fashion Week, I wore two outfits. One for the morning activities and the second was for the Mara Hoffman show. You can see the morning outfit here. For the afternoon, I changed my outfit to wear a piece of Mara Hoffman – those hammer time pants – at least that’s what my husband called it. Hah! I figured with all the 90s comeback, it would be fun to wear it for an afternoon of fun, watching the Mara Hoffman SS16 show.
Guys, I’m back to blogging about my New York Fashion Week SS16 outfits! For NYFW Day 3, I went with this sheer gray dress that Zaful had sent me. Since it was sheer, I knew it would be a perfect layer. If you follow me on Snapchat (add me if you haven’t, username: styleanthropy), then you may have seen me talk about this dress when I was packing. I brought two things to pair it with. It was either a little black dress (LBD) or crop and jeans underneath. I went with the latter.
While NYFW SS16 is coming to an end, the photos aren’t going to be. There are still a thousands of photos and videos waiting to be shared, guys! Just a refresher, if you missed my NYFW Day 1 outfit, click here. You can also read about my first event, the NYFW Cruise, on STYLEanthropy. Now, I’m sharing my Day 2 outfit courtesy of LUCLUC. The recap of Day 2 will be posted on STYLEanthropy. So stay tuned!
Hi guys! Things have been pretty crazy here in NYC. I have thousands of photos from fashion shows and outfits waiting to be posted. So please bear with me. Let’s start with my New York Fashion Week Day 1 Outfit with the Elliott Lucca Artisan Collection.
Happy Monday guys! You probably still have the Oscars hangover. Have you seen who won Best Actress? According to rumors, it shouldn’t have been Julianne Moore but this other lady. Well, I don’t know who that person is. So let’s forget her. I’m here to share with you my NYC Photo Diary Part 1 instead.
Today, I’m going back to my trip to New York during Fashion Week. I’m down to my last few posts for NYFW, so please bear with me. Life has been a little crazy hectic (and exciting), but I’ll try to finish all of my NYFW posts this week. So, on my 3rd day in New York, we woke up extra early in the morning to go to Central Park and take some photos of this beautiful jumpsuit that SheInside sent me. I gotta tell you, this jumpsuit is just so perfect. It imbibes effortless chic. It is well-made, super comfortable but looked so stylish too. It hides the previous night’s dinner and will make anyone look statuesque. Great qualities of a CLOSET KEEPER!
The Academy of Art University in San Francisco is the first school to produce a fashion show during the most prestigious Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City (aka New York Fashion Week). Academy of Art University (AAU) has always been in my list of shows to see ever since I started going to NYFW in 2010. I love seeing the graduating fashion/design students showcase their work. To me, seeing someone achieve their dreams is such a beautiful thing to witness. So imagine seeing a couple of these graduate students’ works and then seeing them go down the runway to take their bow – such an inspiring moment!
So today, let me share with you the pieces that caught my eye last September 6, 2014 at the Academy of Art University Spring 2015 Collection. 12 talented designers showcased 5 individual collections and added in a collaborative menswear collection too. But among all of the 39 looks, I’ve rounded up my favorites here.
Above, I am IN LOVE with the intelligent mix of layering. The cuts, textures and silhouettes are just all so gorgeous and make an all neutral look not look boring at all. Below, I love the modern black, white and gray pieces with those duster cut coats. Again, great layering.
See above? That burgundy leather – love it. I would actually wear these pieces NOW for FALL season. Agree? I mean bordeaux colors and leather? It only makes sense to wear them during the BER months!
Below, these pieces are probably my most favorite of all and they are the most perfect pieces for Spring! The pants with the sheer panels are just so chic. The all white look in the middle, even paired with a white bandana and mirrored aviators? I feel like wearing it on a trip to St. Tropez! And then the third look with that beautifully cut blazer/short sleeve jacket mixed with that mesh/net-like dress is just so gorgeous and sexy without revealing too much skin. Great work to Szu Chi Huang!
Congratulations to all of the Academy of Art University designers. More power to all and good luck in your career. I hope to see more of you in the future. To view the complete collection from Academy of Art University, you can watch the whole show through the video below. Enjoy!
For the past New York Fashion Week trips, I’ve always taken you along with me through photos and stories. You may remember me sharing why I love New York Fashion Week. I also rounded up the shows I went to for 2011 and 2012 collections in this post. And there were many individual posts for 2011 to 2014 collections. Today, I’d like to take you on a tour again – to give you a peek inside the Lincoln Center where all the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week magic happens!
