It’s been awhile that I haven’t posted anything tech-related and I think it’s about time! Things have been pretty crazy the past few weeks – feels like I’m in a whirlwind. And now, the Geek Chic in me is calling… after all, I’m still a computer/web developer at heart. Besides, there are so many technical things going on behind blogging that not a lot of people know or understand. We bloggers design our web pages. We tweak PHP codes, HTML, XML, CSS, etc.. We use photo and movie-editing tools to produce/edit content. We are social media gurus in our own right. And for all those things that we do, we need a computer.
It was over a month ago when I went to another Premium Outlets location, San Marcos to be exact, and I am thankful for that shopping trip. Why? Because from that shopping/leisure trip spawn what would be a great blogger event that I co-organized with the wonderful team of Premium Outlets – thanks to the power of Social Media! This is what I’ve been telling my newbie blogger friends – that having a Twitter, Facebook, etc. account would be beneficial for a blog or any other business for that matter! Through my posts and tweets, Premium Outlets and I have found each other and found a way to organize what we call a Blogger Shop Around event. And of course, it was only apt to do it at the closest center to me, Allen Premium Outlets! Read on to know what went down that Saturday!
Why Social Media Sites are important to bloggers and how it can be annoying at times too? You may have noticed that I have been posting a lot on Twitter about my whereabouts and I hope it doesn’t annoy you that much! You see, my Facebook is linked to Twitter. My Foursquare is also linked to my Facebook and Twitter. My Instagram (fashionjuice) is linked to Facebook, Twitter and my Tumblr. My Pose is also linked to my Facebook and Twitter. My Poshmark is linked to the two as well. My Pinterest? The same thing. Yes, all of my social media sites are connected and that’s the beauty of it. I post at one of them and they automatically post to the rest! That feature of a certain social media or networking website makes a blogger’s life easier! I just have to be cautious at what I share or not share because my followers might get annoyed. I know. That’s the risk of posting too much. But let me share with you why I value these social media sites, from a fashion blogger’s point of view – just so I can justify my actions (err… spamming, lol) and of course, help others (especially newbie bloggers) understand why I do what I do.
Hello readers! It’s the weekend and I know that I haven’t been consistent with posting lately. I used to post everyday – even on Saturdays and Sundays. Sometimes, even more than once a day. But I guess I’m in that stage again. Long time bloggers would understand what I mean.
