Traveling with pets can be a breeze when you’re well prepared from the start. As a fur baby momma, I take Louis with us wherever we go. He has been to all of our trips, and so far, we haven’t encountered any problems. Of course, you are responsible for your pet’s behavior. So only take your pet(s) with you if they are polite, potty trained, not destructive, not aggressive, etc. So below, I’m sharing tips for traveling with your fur babies, and I’ll be sharing some travel spots where you can take them with you too.

What happens when you give a dog a GoPro? You go hiking. But before we dive into that, let me give you an introduction. It was in 2010 when we decided to adopt or rescue a dog. After hours of searching online and at adoption centers, we found THE ONE. It was Lonnie, a 2-year old beagle mix who came in the adoption center as a stray. He looked so sweet, shy and timid inside the cage. But as soon as he got out of it, a playful, energetic dog seemed to have come out of the open. I knew HE was the one. The volunteers were the ones who named him Lonnie. So when we brought him home, I decided to name him Louis – similar to his given name and shows my love for purses. Haha.

Last May, we celebrated the 7th birthday of my fur baby, Louis. He is my beagle mix rescue back in 2010. He was 2 years old at the time. Five years have passed and while he matures, he continues to be such a sweet baby. But like other dogs, aging can bring about less interaction or lower engagement in his daily activities. That’s why we thought it was time to switch to an adult dog food. Lucky Louis, we discovered Purina ProPlan Bright Mind with enhanced botanical oils that promote alertness and sharpness in dogs 7 years and up.

Are you a dog parent like me? If you’ve been following my blog or social media channels, then you’ve probably seen my fur baby Louis by now. If you’re new here, welcome! Louis is my baby, a beagle terrier mix, who we adopted from a pet adoption event back in 2010. We got lucky with him because he was already house trained. He sits for food. He loves to give kisses. He knows how to ride cars. He basically stays put in his dog bed the whole time, unless we are cruising with windows open, he likes to put his face out and enjoy the breeze. He is more than just a pet. He is our fur baby. He sleeps with us, goes with us to our trips, oh, and he goes on dates too. And as pet parents, we fully support him. So below, I’m sharing 5 ways to prepare your fur babies for a date.

A few days ago, my husband and I celebrated Louis’ 7th birthday. Louis is our rescue beagle mix dog who we treat like family, or more like our baby. So we made sure to make it special with a DIY Pet Rack and Dog Food Cake that I made. He was already 2 years old when we adopted him back in 2010. We decided that his adoption date will be his birthday celebration or anniversary with us too. Now before I continue with his story, let me warn you that this post may get a little personal and a little bit dramatic. So if you’re here just for the DIY projects, you’re more than welcome to hop to the instructions below.
One of the other things I love to style is the home. I’ve mentioned time and again that style isn’t just about the clothes we wear, but everything that surrounds us. That’s the very reason my fashion blog has turned into a lifestyle blog. I like to put style in everything I do and I wanted to share it with you, my friends. So for today, I’m sharing my living room update with the help of the new Dyson from Best Buy. Obviously, after refreshing our living room, a tour of the place was in order. So expect a lot of photos of the place below and I hope they inspire you to do a home refresh of your own.

October is Pet Adoption Month and I encourage you to adopt a dog or help in any way you possibly can. Pedigree and Sams Club teamed up to support this cause. Throughout the month of October, whenever you purchase Pedigree dog food and treats at Sams Club, Pedigree will donate a bowl of dog food to an animal shelter. Every little bit helps and I hope you can participate in this campaign as well.

Having a four-legged member in the family means that we get to spend more time outdoors and be active while doing so. And because of that, we’re so glad that we live next to a jogging trail and a venue that hosts weekly farmers market – with benches and picnic tables out in the open. It’s perfect for relaxing or cooling down after a long walk or jog with our dog Louis. Since the place is next to our home, we can do a quick pit stop at home to grab some drinks and enjoy it next door, al fresco. Our drink of choice? Iced Tea and Low Calorie Drinks from Keurig Brew Over Ice line of products. Quick and easy, freshly brewed, low-calorie, best K cup flavors and more importantly, cold drinks to quench our thirst after sweating it out in the trail. Let me show you how easy it is to make and #BrewItUp in seconds below.

Erin Go Bark! It’s the theme of the 32nd North Texas Irish Festival which was derived from the phrase “Erin Go Bragh!”, a traditional Irish saying meaning “Ireland Forever”. The North Texas Irish Festival is back with Canines and Celtic Culture this Feb. 28 to March 2! I’m so happy I’m back here in Dallas because I can take my baby Louis to a dog-friendly event here in the Big D! So to all Canine lovers out there, come on out at the Fair Park grounds and celebrate with us and your mutts! The largest celebration of culture in Southwest goes to the dogs as its 32nd year showcases all things Irish, including dogs, dancing, dining and more in Dallas’s Fair Park.
