Are you a dog parent like me? If you’ve been following my blog or social media channels, then you’ve probably seen my fur baby Louis by now. If you’re new here, welcome! Louis is my baby, a beagle terrier mix, who we adopted from a pet adoption event back in 2010. We got lucky with him because he was already house trained. He sits for food. He loves to give kisses. He knows how to ride cars. He basically stays put in his dog bed the whole time, unless we are cruising with windows open, he likes to put his face out and enjoy the breeze. He is more than just a pet. He is our fur baby. He sleeps with us, goes with us to our trips, oh, and he goes on dates too. And as pet parents, we fully support him. So below, I’m sharing 5 ways to prepare your fur babies for a date.

A few days ago, my husband and I celebrated Louis’ 7th birthday. Louis is our rescue beagle mix dog who we treat like family, or more like our baby. So we made sure to make it special with a DIY Pet Rack and Dog Food Cake that I made. He was already 2 years old when we adopted him back in 2010. We decided that his adoption date will be his birthday celebration or anniversary with us too. Now before I continue with his story, let me warn you that this post may get a little personal and a little bit dramatic. So if you’re here just for the DIY projects, you’re more than welcome to hop to the instructions below.

October is Pet Adoption Month and I encourage you to adopt a dog or help in any way you possibly can. Pedigree and Sams Club teamed up to support this cause. Throughout the month of October, whenever you purchase Pedigree dog food and treats at Sams Club, Pedigree will donate a bowl of dog food to an animal shelter. Every little bit helps and I hope you can participate in this campaign as well.

Having a four-legged member in the family means that we get to spend more time outdoors and be active while doing so. And because of that, we’re so glad that we live next to a jogging trail and a venue that hosts weekly farmers market – with benches and picnic tables out in the open. It’s perfect for relaxing or cooling down after a long walk or jog with our dog Louis. Since the place is next to our home, we can do a quick pit stop at home to grab some drinks and enjoy it next door, al fresco. Our drink of choice? Iced Tea and Low Calorie Drinks from Keurig Brew Over Ice line of products. Quick and easy, freshly brewed, low-calorie, best K cup flavors and more importantly, cold drinks to quench our thirst after sweating it out in the trail. Let me show you how easy it is to make and #BrewItUp in seconds below.
HiCustom offers customized apparel and phone cases among other gift items. My Fashion Juice has been collaborating with the brand for several months now, designing different tees to feature in our outfit posts. In case you’re new to My Fashion Juice, one of the first shirts we’ve designed is this. The most recent one we just featured is the Parental Advisory tee and my personal favorite of course, is this. Custom or statement tees are pretty popular right now. Some designers would sell for hundreds of dollars but why not design your own for just a fraction of the cost? Even better when we have a giveaway for you, right?
Erin Go Bark! It’s the theme of the 32nd North Texas Irish Festival which was derived from the phrase “Erin Go Bragh!”, a traditional Irish saying meaning “Ireland Forever”. The North Texas Irish Festival is back with Canines and Celtic Culture this Feb. 28 to March 2! I’m so happy I’m back here in Dallas because I can take my baby Louis to a dog-friendly event here in the Big D! So to all Canine lovers out there, come on out at the Fair Park grounds and celebrate with us and your mutts! The largest celebration of culture in Southwest goes to the dogs as its 32nd year showcases all things Irish, including dogs, dancing, dining and more in Dallas’s Fair Park.
