New Tiffany T + Google Hangout with Francesca Amfitheatrof

Tiffany & Co., Tiffany, jewelry, bracelet, ring

I’ve been meaning to share with you the latest news about one of my favorite brands (and perhaps all of ours), Tiffany & Co. Tiffany has designated a new design director, first female design director in the brand’s 177-year history, Francesca Amfitheatrof, trained jeweler and silversmith. I was supposed to join them at a blogger preview last September 3, in time for New York Fashion Week. However, I was arriving in NYC 2 days later. It would have been great to meet and talk to her about the new direction she’s taking and the new Tiffany T collection which I so LOVE!

In her new role as Tiffany’s design director, Francesca Amfitheatrof took the measure of the city—its power, energy and daring—and captured it in the graphic Tiffany T. Born in New York, Tiffany T is an icon for a new era. Amfitheatrof dedicates it to the world’s great cities and the global travelers who gravitate to art and culture—and the edge, where creativity sparks change.

“I wanted to create a symbol for modern life and its relentless energy that flows through New York and drives art and culture around the world,” she says. “This is just the beginning of what I hope to accomplish.”

Now do you understand why I’m so in love with the collection? Those Tiffany T thin bracelets and rings are my absolute favorite because I can stack them all up for a beautiful arm candy! I love what Amfitheatrof has done to this collection. It’s totally fresh and young, but keeping with the elegance Tiffany & Co. is known for.

On October 21st, Tiffany & Co. will host a lively discussion on What’s Modern Now, at a Google+ Hangout with Design Director Francesca Amfitheatrof, model Coco Rocha, Aimee Song of Song and Style and Elle fashion news director, Anne Slowey. These high-profile women will take the pulse of the moment, sharing their expertise in media, fashion and design and reflecting on the wider world of art, style and culture. Participants from around the world will have the opportunity to ask questions, which will be answered during the broadcast.

Hope to see you there: http://bit.ly/TiffanyHangout. Make sure to engage with @TiffanyandCo and follow the hashtag #ShopTheHangout.

Spotlight: Lina Shatara Jewelry

Lina Shatara, Jewelry, Jewels, Accessories, ring, Tara ring, silver

A few weeks ago, I was introduced to Lina Shatara jewelry. She’s got a bold yet simplistic approach to jewelry which gives them flexibility in terms of styling. And that’s what I love about them. Take for example this Tara ring in silver. It’s actually a Lotus ring (that I can also make as a Tulip if I want to, hehe) and would be a perfect complement to dainty and pastel Spring nail colors like the Radiant Orchid I’m wearing along with beautiful floral dresses…

Diamonds are Forever

I know that I’ve been posting a lot about jewelry and diamonds lately. I’m not hinting anything (ahem Hubby, lol). But it’s just that lately, I’m getting a lot of emails from clients in the jewelry business. And I’m very thankful because it only goes to show how my fashion site is booming, sponsors are growing and I get paid to write certain stuff. But anyway, enough of that. I’m here to talk about diamonds. They are indeed forever. And so when guys propose to their ladies, it’s traditionally with diamond engagement rings. And why not? Can you think of anything else tangible that can represent your undying love to your special someone? Diamonds can last a lifetime and so it’s definitely the best representation of one’s love. Okay enough of me blabbering, trying to defend women and their diamonds. LOL! I’m just here to show you some ahhhh-mazing rings such as matching diamond eternity rings and engagement rings among others. This may serve as a guide to men who are ring-shopping or women who just want to buy rings for themselves!
