Hi ladies! Fall is my favorite fashion season for so many reasons. Fedoras, floppy hats… boots in all shapes and styles… moto jacket, faux fur, scarves, and trench coats galore… oh Fall, how I’ve missed thee. So when Belk asked us to host the upcoming Belk Girls’ Night Out for their Galleria Dallas location, we couldn’t have been more excited!
About a month ago, I was introduced to this new to me line of cosmetics, Jouer Cosmetics. Jouer (dzou-way) means “to play” in French. Jouer Cosmetics, the top French makeup line made its Dallas debut last September and is exclusively available at my fave beauty lounge, Blushington. I just had to see for myself, this new line of chic makeup. And of course, the French Fête hosted by Blushington Dallas to celebrate the launch, made my visit extra special.
Jouer Cosmetics is right up my alley. If you know me, I usually wear a “simple” or “natural-looking” makeup. My go-to eye shadow is almost always in the taupe, bronze, or brown shade. My blush is always in the peachy, coral, or apricot shade. And if I want to add some color, it would most likely be just on my lips. But for a day-to-day look, my lips are always sporting a natural peachy or light pink shade. I’ve been using that mini Jouer lip gloss more and more recently and couldn’t wait to share with you a fun beauty look using these products. But for now, here’s how my Blushington makeup artist did my face. Note, I only asked for the eyes (eye shadow) and blush since I was in a rush to go to another event the same night. More photos later below at the event.
What I love about Jouer is that their shades are very flattering and give off that romantic vibe to it. Second thing I love about this makeup line is the packaging. Those square containers snaps and slides unto each other so you can bring them all together or customize your own palette. How fun is that? Now a product to note is the Jouer “Luminizing” Tinted Moisturizer, an Allure Beauty awardee. I haven’t tried it out myself but I heard good things. Hoping to test it out in the future.
Well, stay tuned for that beauty look post using Jouer Cosmetics. For now, here are photos from the launch event over at Blushington Dallas. Stay pretty!
Hey guys, Mary Ann here. Over the weekend, my friend and I, along with our kids, headed over to Highland Village, Texas for the 27th Annual Highland Village Lions Club Balloon Festival. We got to participate in the Hot Air 5k race early Saturday. And boy was it hot that day, I broke out a sweat even before we started running!
One to cross off my “Blogger Bucket List”. That’s how I think about the Tootsies Dallas Top Blogger 2014 Finale. To be able to get such recognition as a finalist and be able to style a mini-fashion show because of this blog – it’s a dream come true for me. Words cannot express my gratitude.
Today, I’m sharing with you our delicious experience at P.F. Chang’s. You probably noticed I’ve been posting a lot about P.F. Chang’s on my social media. Well that’s because they rolled in a new menu! For the first time, they are introducing hand-rolled sushi as well as inventive small plates and handcrafted cocktails – first and only in the Dallas Fort Worth metro! These new menu items are perfect for Happy Hour. Are you ready to drool???
Hey guys, it’s Irene here. Last Saturday, I had brunch with the Susan G. Komen Dallas Headquarters team at Blue Mesa Bar and Grill. We talked about the upcoming Susan G. Komen event. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a three-day, 60-mile walk that is nationally managed by Komen Headquarters. No other breast cancer event in the country asks you to walk as far or raise as much money as the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Coming to Dallas/Fort Worth on November 7-9, 2014, the Komen 3-day is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to be a part of something bigger – ending breast cancer forever.
Hey guys, Joy here. There are dreams you aspire as a child that never go away and keep haunting you until you bring them to reality. This is exactly what happened to Esé Azénabor.
She was only 6 years old when she first saw The Phantom of the Opera in London with her father. The draping of the backdrop, set design, rich materials, and elaborate costumes visually fascinated and stimulated her young mind. Who would have thought that a stage musical would mesmerize a little girl so much, she would eventually give up a promising career in the field of Accounting, to design and make clothing? The Phantom of the Opera haunted this little girl and did not give up until it was brought to life.
The other day, I was trying to clean up files in my laptop. Dragging and dropping folders that have been used and uploaded to the “DONE” folder, I came across a collection of photos that I had missed sharing earlier. These were photos taken early Spring, after a launch party – that led to late night snacking in the Deep Ellum district, a.k.a. the arts and entertainment district in Old East Dallas, Texas. It’s where you’ll find popular dining spots like Tanoshii Ramen, Angry Dogs, Pepe’s and Mito’s, and Twisted Root Burger to name a few. But aside from restaurants and quick bites, there are also a variety of bars – including a sand bar where you can drink at the bar and play volleyball in the sand all in one venue! But enough about Deep Ellum. I’m here to share with you the floral number I wore that night. It’s one of my favorite Peter Pilotto for Target Collection pieces that I can wear both warmer and cooler months, day or night. Here’s how I styled it one cool and breezy evening…
A couple of months ago, I was introduced to Lorna Jane Active – a popular (more like Number 1) Australian activewear brand that first expanded in California. You can read my feature post on the brand here. Back then, I told you that it was opening stores in Texas. And you guessed it right, the first Lorna Jane Active Texas store is already open in Frisco – at the Stonebriar Mall to be exact! While I missed the grand opening, we were invited to a Style Session with the Lorna Jane Active Frisco team and here are some photos of our visit.
